Our Mission
Our mission is simple: help you protect attention and make the next right move. Modern knowledge work is full of shifting priorities and constant interruptions. When the list becomes heavy, you stop using it. Today’s Tasks removes drag so your list stays light and actionable. Capture a task, choose a lane, and move on—no accounts, syncing headaches, or complex setup required.

Who I Am & How This Started
Hi — I'm Hill. I'm an independent developer based in Hong Kong, and Today's Tasks is a project I built for myself first. After cycling through Notion, Todoist, Asana, and Trello over the years, I kept ending up in the same place: the tool was capable enough to manage anything, which meant I spent more time configuring it than doing the work it was supposed to enable.
One evening in late 2024 I sat down to answer a single question: could a daily to-do list load instantly, require no account, and still feel reliable enough to run a real workday? The first version was a single HTML file with one input and three lists. Friends started using the prototype; the checklist survived real deadlines; people asked me to share it. So I cleaned up the edges without losing the speed that made it useful.
The site you're reading is the public version of that project — the app itself, plus a small set of articles about the habits the three-lane model is designed around. I write the productivity articles myself based on what's actually working for me on a given day. If a feature or piece of advice doesn't help me finish work sooner, it doesn't go on the site.
You can find me on GitHub — that's where the source for this site lives, and where I push small projects that aren't worth their own domain.
How Today’s Tasks Works
Open the app and you’ll see one input box, a priority selector, and three lists. Type the next action, choose where it belongs, and press “Add Task.” Completed items move to a separate section where you can restore them anytime. Each midnight, the app resets your visible list so you start fresh—no more stale tasks weighing on tomorrow.
- High Priority: urgent items or hard deadlines that demand attention today.
- Due Today: outcomes that would make the day a win.
- General: everything else worth tracking without hijacking the day.

What’s Next
We’re exploring gentle enhancements—keyboard shortcuts, optional export, and accessibility refinements—while keeping the app simple. We’ll continue to prioritize speed, clarity, and privacy over feature bloat.
If you have ideas or feedback, we’d love to hear from you on the Contact page. If the app saves you time, share it with a friend who struggles with list bloat. The best compliment is another focused day.
